Begin To See Your Brand as a Person
To create a meaningful brand that attracts the right costumers starts by asking the right questions: it all comes down to strategy.
The goal is to strengthen the connection with your audience, by establishing a strong tone of voice, and an emotional connection. It will also make it much easier for you and your employees to have a clear vision and connection with the brand. Unsure how to do this? Don't worry I got you covered! It starts by answering the questions below.
Now, think about your brand as a person...
1. How would you describe that person?
What kind of personality qualities and quirks does that person has? Describe it with much detail as possible. Examples can be energetic, friendly adventurous, witty...
Is she female or male? Or can be both?
How old?
Where does she/he lives?
Think about how they would speak, dress, their hobbies..
Anything you would like to add here feel free!
2. What kind of friends would it have?
Think about the friends your brand would have and try to be specific again, How old are they? Where do they live? How much do they earn? What do they value? What brands do they follow?
What are their hobbies and interests?
3. What are their values?
What do these people value? Is it sustainability? Is it quality? Is is community? Think about three values.
These friends will be your costumers, and their values will be the values of your brand. It´s important to keep it simple and focus on maximum 2 or three values, for example providing a product in the market that delivers the most quality, or providing education and knowledge about the Outdoor and a Healthy lifestyle. Options are infinite here but it depends on your mission.
It should be easier now to start defining a tone of voice for your brand, this voice and strategy should be consistent on every channel, from costumer care to social media, to website and branding design.
